JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at JFK Airport, a major hub for international and domestic travel, required updates to its queue systems to maintain reliability and visual appeal. Visiontron prioritized cost-effective maintenance and repairs over complete replacements, helping to lower costs while preserving high operational standards. The Approach

Our goal was to maintain the queues’ functionality while revitalizing their look and operation. The refurbishment process included:

  • Comprehensive System Evaluation: Each component was inspected for functionality and safety. Retractable belts were tested for smooth retraction and wear, while posts and panels were assessed for stability and any physical damage.
  • Targeted Repairs and Replacements: Faulty parts were replaced on-site to ensure continued operation, allowing the queue system to function without interruptions.
  • Queue Optimization: The TSA PreCheck area was redesigned to enhance passenger throughput, providing a more efficient experience for travelers and staff.

FUN FACT: Terminal 5 integrates the historic TWA Flight Center, originally designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen in 1962. Its iconic mid-century architecture has been carefully preserved, serving as a lasting tribute to the golden era of air travel.
