ADA-Compliant Gates & Barriers
Create a secure, accessible passage through airport, transportation and controlled-access checkpoints. Visiontron gates provide an ADA-compliant clear opening, field-reversible swing and a nonmetallic HDPE gate frame, while matching fixed barriers close surrounding gaps with a coordinated appearance.

Why Choose the ADA Gates & Barriers?
An ADA-compliant checkpoint gate is an operable passage designed to maintain an accessible route through a fixed security barrier line. The gate and barriers are separate components with different functions: the gate provides the accessible opening, while independently sized fixed barrier panels close adjacent gaps around checkpoint equipment, walls and other site conditions. Visiontron coordinates those components into one purpose-built system engineered for operation near metal detectors, controlled passenger flow and a consistent finished appearance.
A Clear, Operable Route Through the Barrier Line
The standard gate provides a 36.625-inch-wide gate opening within a 44.5-inch-wide frame, supporting accessible passage while preserving a controlled checkpoint boundary.
- ADA-compliant gate design
- 36.625-inch gate width
- Minimizes avoidable trip hazards
Nonmetallic Gate Frame for Metal-Detector Areas
The gate frame is constructed from high-density polyethylene rather than metal, helping avoid interference when the moving gate is positioned near metal-detection equipment. An auto-locking magnetic latch adds controlled closure.
- HDPE gate frame
- Auto-locking magnetic latch
- Designed for security-checkpoint use
Reduce Installation Time and Close Unwanted Gaps
Gates and barriers arrive fully assembled. Notched corner bases permit tighter spacing between sections, while strategically placed anchors and shims support alignment and proper gate operation.
- No product assembly required
- Notched bases minimize section gaps
- Anchors and shims support final adjustment
Adjust Dimensions, Appearance and Communication
Beyond the standard black frame and clear acrylic insert, Visiontron can provide custom finishes, insert materials, full-color printed graphics and custom barrier sizes for project-specific layouts.
- Custom finishes
- Alternative insert materials
- Full-color printing and custom sizes
Recycled Content and Recyclable Frames
Aluminum frames contain approximately 30% recycled material and are recyclable at end of life. The HDPE gate frame contains a minimum of 80% post-consumer recycled material and is also recyclable.

Combine an Accessible Gate with Matching Barriers
Specify the gate swing and use one or more standard barrier widths to fit the checkpoint layout. Custom dimensions are available when the four standard barriers do not match the available space.

TSAGATE-4L / TSAGATE-4R
12-Inch Barrier
The compact 11.75-inch-wide barrier fills narrow gaps around a gate, wall, checkpoint fixture or adjacent barrier section.
TSABARRIER-1
24-Inch Barrier
The 23.75-inch-wide by 48-inch-high barrier closes intermediate openings while remaining a distinct component within the coordinated checkpoint system.
TSABARRIER-2
36-Inch Barrier
The 35.75-inch-wide by 48-inch-high barrier fills a larger intermediate opening and is specified independently from the 24-inch barrier.
TSABARRIER-3
48-Inch Barrier
The 47.75-inch-wide standard barrier spans larger openings and coordinates with the gate and narrower barrier modules.

A Coordinated System, Not a Generic Gate
The accessible gate, adjacent barriers, bases, uprights, inserts and installation hardware are planned together around the opening, swing direction, checkpoint equipment and surrounding gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an ADA-compliant checkpoint gate?⌄
It is an operable gate designed to maintain an accessible passage through a fixed security barrier line. ADA Standards section 404.2.3 generally requires a minimum 32-inch clear opening at doors and gates; the Visiontron standard gate has a listed gate width of 36.625 inches within a 44.5-inch-wide frame. Final placement, maneuvering clearances, hardware and site conditions must also satisfy the applicable requirements. See the U.S. Access Board guidance for accessible routes, doors and gates.
What is the difference between the ADA gate and the matching barriers?⌄
The ADA gate is the operable component that provides passage through the checkpoint line. The matching barriers are separate fixed panels used to close the spaces beside the gate, between checkpoint equipment or next to walls. Four standard barrier widths—and custom sizes—allow each opening to be addressed independently.
Where are Visiontron ADA gates and barriers used?⌄
They are designed for airports, transportation facilities and other security-sensitive or controlled-access locations that need an accessible passage with matching barriers around adjacent openings.
Can the gate swing left or right?⌄
Yes. Left-hand and right-hand models are available, and the swing can be reversed in the field to accommodate changing traffic patterns or site requirements.
Why is the gate frame made from HDPE?⌄
The nonmetallic high-density polyethylene gate frame helps avoid interference when the moving gate is installed near metal-detection equipment. It also provides a strong, recyclable construction.
Does the gate lock automatically?⌄
The gate incorporates an auto-locking magnetic latch for controlled closure. Confirm the required security operation and placement for the specific checkpoint.
Which barrier widths are available?⌄
Four standard barriers measure 11.75, 23.75, 35.75 or 47.75 inches wide, all at 48 inches high. Custom widths are also available.
Do the gates and barriers require assembly?⌄
No product assembly is required because the units ship fully assembled. They still require proper placement, floor anchoring, alignment and site adjustment.
Can the finish and inserts be customized?⌄
Yes. Black is standard, with custom finishes, alternative insert materials, custom barrier sizes and full-color printed inserts available.
How do the notched bases improve installation?⌄
Notched corner bases let neighboring sections sit closer together, creating a cleaner barrier line and reducing gaps where objects might pass through.
Are the gates and barriers made in the United States?⌄
Yes. Visiontron ADA gates and matching security barriers are made in the USA.
What recycled materials are used?⌄
The aluminum frames contain approximately 30% recycled material, and the HDPE gate frame contains a minimum of 80% post-consumer recycled material. Both frame materials are recyclable at end of life.
