Designing the “New Queue”

The new normal is dictating changes in how we interact and go about doing business while keeping employees and customers healthy.

Crowd Control for the “New Normal”

For over 50 years, we’ve been manufacturing products that guide people to ensure a safe, organized journey. See how many of our new and existing products help as the world focuses on a more distanced, guarded and safer path ahead.

Visiontron Creates a Magnetically Appealing Product that Satisfies International Fire Code

The architect assigned to redesign the Hoover Dam Visitors Center requested a quote for an elegant, sturdy queue solution. We quoted our Premium ADA-compliant Dual Line RETRACTA-BELT® posts with our patented MINI-SOCKET® base mount, which has the smallest possible footprint and looks really sleek.

Hoover Dam had concerns that the belts would not easily open to provide safe exiting from the queue in the event of an emergency, so our expert engineers went to work on designing a magnetic Breakaway Belt compatible with our RETRACTA-BELT products. They had built and destroyed, rebuilt and then destroyed less, multiple samples until they finally had a reliable solution that provided uninhibited egress from a line. Satisfying the architect, the Fire Marshal and Hoover Dam, the order for custom stanchions with Breakaway Belts was placed.

Visiontron Creates Custom Rolling Wall Dividers for MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium asked us to provide two solutions; one to replace folding partition walls in their service tunnel, and the other to provide semi-permanent portable display wall panels to hide storage areas.

The stadium used partition walls to divide the service tunnel in half when the players were leaving or entering the locker room. The space is shared by their operations team and players, and is also utilized to provide guest access to certain parts of the stadium.

Our solution to replace the partition walls had to be:

Easily deployable.
Light-weight but sturdy.
Tall enough so that guests could not see over them.
The gap between the panels had to be as minimal as possible so that guests could not see players and staff through them.

Visiontron Takes Customization to the Next Level for Bank of America

A couple of years back, Bank of America was looking to replace the queue panel system that they used in their branches. Their existing system was wrought with problems; it required too much work to install, they had issues with the bases coming loose and they did not like how literature was installed into the frames.

So, in looking to replace their old system, Bank of America reached out to Visiontron. The project brief:
• Simple installation.
• Reliable and sturdy post and base construction.
• Frames with easy access to change literature.
• Posts in a satin finish.

Our first quote was for our best in class RETRACTA-BELT® satin finish posts with standard black caps and clips, and Designer-Series Q-PANEL® systems, which is designed with a unique hinged top, making it very easy to change frame inserts.

Seattle-Tacoma Int’l Airport: Crowd Control Solutions for an Organized Airport Experience

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport selected Visiontron’s Mini Socket Mounted Retracta-Belt Stanchions, Q-PANEL® ‘Privacy Panels’ and Q-BEAM® for increased airport security in their customs areas. MINI-SOCKET® Mounted RETRACTA-BELT® stanchions were also used in the Southwest ticketing counter.

MINI-SOCKET Mounted RETRACTA-BELT stanchions are quick and easy to install, unscrew from the socket in seconds so the queue line size can change with minimal effort, and the socket is smaller than a quarter so it has very little impact on floors. Q-PANELs and Q-BEAMs were used around the queue line perimeter for added security.

JetBlue Terminal 5 Customs and Border Area at JFK Airport in New York City – T5i

JetBlue unveiled T5i, their new international arrivals facility in JFK Airport, in November 2014. This state of the art $200 million project features a customs and border patrol area designed to process up to 1,400 travelers per hour. To outfit their queue lines, JetBlue selected Visiontron’s MINI-SOCKET® Mounted RETRACTA-BELT® Stanchions, MINI-SOCKET Mounted Q-PANEL® Systems, and RETRACTA-BELT Wall Mounts. Our exclusive and unique products provide a functional, attractive, and flexible queuing solution to accommodate arriving passengers.

MINI-SOCKET Mounted RETRACTA-BELT stanchions and Q-PANEL Systems are ideal for airports because they feature a ‘no-base’ design, which tightens up the queue line space, eliminates the tripping hazard from standard bases, and provides a clean-looking appearance. The permanent socket ensures that queues are set up in the same place and layout each time, and prevents the stanchions from shifting or ‘walking’ throughout the day.

Houston Airport: Customs and Border Entrance

“The installation of the Visiontron MINI-SOCKET system produced a very clean appearance for our client with an easy and straightforward installation,” says Garrett Jurica, the Project Manager at KBR who installed the posts. “The provided instructions made the procedures for installation clear to all personnel used on the project and assisted greatly in getting all the needed equipment to site. Our project required the system to be installed into a terrazzo floor finish, this was accomplished by utilizing the epoxy anchor system with the supplied lock-in mechanical feature for each anchor. We also supplied our clients with the optional anchor cap for future use if the areas queuing requirements change, with the cap installed the anchor virtually disappears into the finishes of the surrounding areas.”
