We have all been feeling the effects of the rising price of fuel. Imagine what it's like for shipping companies! All of the standard couriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) have switched their pricing structures and charge based on dimensional weight. Our assembled posts ship in big boxes so instead of being charged for their actual 30 lb. weight, they now go out at 49 lbs. per post! Ouch! It looks like we'll just have to pay more for shipping. WRONG!
The design of our posts allows us to ship them Knocked-Down, two posts per box. Instead of shipping one post at 49 lbs., we can now ship two posts at 53 lbs. This results in saving an average of 60% per post. On top of that, the Knocked-Down box eliminates the double box charges; so, instead of paying $13 for two box charges, you pay nothing. The savings are immense! On top of saving money, you're also helping us save the environment by using less packaging. Let's take a look at several shipping examples* and see how much you can save:
Example 1: Shipping 2 posts to the Northeast (UPS Zone 2).
Assembled posts would cost about $50 for UPS charges and double box charges.
Knocked-Down posts would cost about $20.
You save a total of $30, or 60%!
Example 2: Shipping 2 posts to the middle of the U.S (UPS Zone 5).
Assembled posts would cost about $75.
Knocked-Down posts would cost about $30.
You save a total of $45, or 60%!
Example 3: Shipping 2 posts to the West Coast (UPS Zone 8).
